You can put whatever you want in your bag. Rather 56 than 60 though. 52 and 60 seem distant.

I have three wedges in the bag, 53 56 60 can I remove the 56 and keep the 60 or do I have to get a 58. This is to make room for another hybrid.

You can do whatever you want. Just have 14 clubs in your bag. The way you explain the situation it is very confusing... but I think I understand what you're trying to get at.

A 60 and 58 can basically do the same thing. So just stick with the 60.

53*, 60*, and hybrid. Problem solved!

Or you could remove the iron that you are replacing with a hybrid and keep all of your wedges, unless you are adding something like an 18* hybrid and already have 3-PW or some combination of hybrids and irons that are equivilant.

You don't "have to" do anything.  Use the 53 and 60 and see if you can manage the yardage gap. A 53/57/60 combo gives me 120, 100 and 80 yards on full(ish) wedge shots. Not sure a 40 yard gap would be desirable for me. When I use a 53/58 combo I really struggle with shots in the 80-60 yard range. A 58 can do almost everything a 60 can, but if you're used to a 60, then you'll find out pretty quickly that a 58 in the bag means compromising on a few shots around the green until you get used to it.

I would probably say you should ask yourself what you would hit more: The hybrid (possibly for use on shorter par 5's), or the 56* (for whatever gap it covers). If the gap isn't large, or you rarely have that shot, I'd say buy a hybrid. Or, you could buy the hybrid and choose which to take based on what course you play, take the hybrid for long courses, and the 56* for short ones as an example. It's really up to how you play your game, and how much of a difference in your scores will a hybrid make compared to what you shoot with the 56*.

I have 2 friends that play 52-60. It seems to be a large gap for an am, but one of them was on the LPGA and the other is a So Fla PGA sectional tournament winner that I actually played with yesterday. He plays an M grind (Tour Grind) Vokey in the 60 and the standard Vokey in the 52. He is deadly with either but has a quarter sized ball mark on the 52 and uses it for the majority of greenside work with the exceptions of bunkers and the occasional flop (he prefers bump and run). I knew I was in trouble yesterday when he got up and down for birdie from 70 yards out on hole number one (short par four 360 and he threads it between the bunkers 290 and has a little flick in).

I don't use a 60 just because I never have.  I love my 56 and feel like I can open it up when necessary if I need the extra loft.

I'm stuck on this myself.  I currently have 51°, 55° (bent from 56) and a 60°.  I never, ever use the 55° unless I'm in the bunker.  And fortunately, I'm rarely even in a bunker.  I've played 2 green side bunker shots all year.  I'm sure that will change now that I said it!

Been thinking of either 1] pulling the 60°, and bending the 55° back to 56°; or 2] pull the 55° and bend the 51° to 52°.  Then I would put an 18° hybrid in the extra slot.

I decided to pull the 56 and put a 24* hybrid do bridge the gap  between the 21* 4h and the 5i which is 27*

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
