Round on Kauai/Big Island for honeymoon

So for my honeymoon we are fortunate enough to be able to go to Hawaii. We will be spending a few days on Kauai and a few days on the Big Island. While the soon-to-be wife enjoys a morning at the spa, I'll be off to play one of the Aloha state's courses. With time and opportunity being limited, I'd love to hear some feedback and direction about which course was the best overall experience. I'll probably be playing only one course during the trip as we will be hiking, kayaking, and surfing the other days. The courses I've thought about doing are these: Poipu Bay, Kauai Lagoons, or Kona Country Club. Any input would be much appreciated, thanks!

I spent 2 weeks on the Big Island with my wife and pretty much golfed or practiced everyday. I did practice at Kona Country Club but did not play there. The course is very old school and has tons of slope on the fairways etc...

I played Mana Lani and Mauna Kea and both were great but Mana Lani is easier and more fun. Beautiful course! Mauna Kea is very hard!

I would say play Mauna Lani-

I haven't been to either Big Island or Kauai yet, remarkably.  But I think it's fairly well accepted that the best course in Kauai is the Prince, and on the Big Island it's Hualalai.

great course, but can be windy as you are on the cliffs by the ocean.

I would happily play there again.  I still want to try the course up in Princeville in Kauai!  looks like its worth the effort to make it up to the north side of the island!

Anybody play Kauai lagoons after the renovation of the ocean holes?

i have played Poipu Bay and Princeville - if you are a solid golfer Princeville is a hands down winner, you will have a nice day at Poipu and it is a nice course but the Prince is just better all the way around.

At the end of it you will be on the greatest Islands in the world (for my money at least) and will have an outstanding time!!

When on the Big Island, we stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village and played their Beach and King's courses. They even have a putting course.

Yeah, but isn't Hualalai super private?  Like, only residents and guests of the Four Seasons (or whatever fancy hotel that is) can play there?

Me too!  We stayed at the Marriott next door but also played both the Beach and Kings.  Loved those courses.  Also, nice and quiet.  My wife rode along with me as I played by myself both times.  The only times I've ever had the pleasure of golfing alone.

When I go back, I would like to try Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani or the Hapuna courses.

While we didn't play golf when there last year, I remember a couple we shared a Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour with saying they were really enjoying the courses at the Hilton there.  Don't remember the Hilton or courses, but I can't imagine anything being suckville on the Big Island.

I'm licking my chops to figure out which course to play, all of these options!!!! Do I have to pick one? Hahaha Thanks for input, this gives me a start to do some more googling/talk the fiancée into another round while we are there. :-P
