6 months ago I noticed a small joint/tendon pain in my right elbow, especially when I would bounce balls on the face of a wedge when bored, so I stopped. Just getting worse.. Currently I can't lift anything over 30lbs using my right bicep without pain.. I'm only 40 and starting to get concerned.. anyone else with similar probs? I hate doctors... I can't tell if its a forearm tendon or elbow ligament. I only play once a week... And taking breaks seems to do nothing... :-(

Google tennis/golfers elbow and see how well you match. In general

1) Ice 20 mins 3x a day

2) do some stretching exercises

3) get a strap to take some stress off the area

4) No golf (and pretty much no motion that you can avoid) for a couple weeks.

Now it is also possible you strained a bicep muscle. A good physical therapist would be a good idea. You can decide if you hate doctors more than you like not being in pain.

My aunt is a physical therapist assistant, my dad had this issue and she recommends alternating heat and ice, 15-20 minutes on 15-20 minutes off.

I had picked up this for me early in the season. I would have a really bad pain near my elbow on the outside of my forearm. I actually took a week off from golf, and iced it daily in the evenings. That helped me out.

I doubt its a bicep muscle if its in the forearm, just a different muscle group. from the sound of it, it sounds like tendon problem, not a forearm muscle problem. You use the forearms to stabalize the dumbbell when you do the exercise so your stressing the tendon as well.

If its tendonitis,

NO GOLF

Heat and Ice

Take an anti-inflammetory drug if it acts up

Buy a compression strap to keep the tendon down

If it persist for a long time, see a doctor for more advanced treatments.
