do this experiment - hold the club with the grip pressure you have at address, then hold it with the grip pressure you have at impact.... I bet $5 that the club head goes up and out?

if that is true, then the grip is the cause for the shank, and it is a flawed grip.

Good drill from 5SK instructor Mario Bevilacqua.  Not specifically geared towards "fixing" the shank but will help how the arms work with the pivot and keep the handle moving.  Or as Mario says

Quote:
This is the best drill in golf because it trains you to sequence the motion of the arms and club with the body pivot. Get both of these synced up for center face contact, increased distance, and improved stability.

    • It is on HBO, so maybe get a month subscription to binge watch after the season is almost over.
    • Yea the first season was great. I never played the second game so I am basically blind to most of the story (with some exceptions). I have to figure out how to watch it though since I don’t have cable anymore.
    • Causation does not equal correlation. Just because he "got jacked" doesn't mean that was what caused him not to win a major from 2015-2024.  There are so many reasons other than "he was too jacked to make good swings under pressure" as to why he didn't win from 2015-2024. First, winning a major is HARD. It requires a lot of luck and things to go your way over the course of 72 holes. Second, there were so many good players that came along and won majors during that time period. The longer time goes on the harder and harder it becomes to win because the skill level of professional golfers as a whole increases over time. Third, sometimes you straight up get beat, like in 2022 Rory lost to Cam Smith who shot an 8 under 64 in the final round. Rory shot a bogey free 70 and hit every single GIR.  There were plenty of other things besides "he got too jacked to make good swings under pressure" as to why he didn't win from 2015-2024.  In fact, since the 2015-2016 season, Rory has been inside the top 10 in Strokes Gained Tee to Green EVERY SINGLE SEASON. Think about that for a second. 9 straight seasons he was in the top 10 of a key statistical area measuring full swings and you're trying to argue that he was too jacked to make good swings under pressure while offering no facts or stats that support your claim in any way?? C'mon man that's a horrible take.
    • Caught up on the last two. The flow is going great. I enjoyed episode 4 with the hated drills. Good talk. I have not been interested in podcasts in quite some time until this one.
