Next Tuesday Ive got a day off from work and permission from the boss (wife:) to spend the day down the golf course.

So if I tee off at 810am, do you reckon I can get three rounds in or is it more realistic to go for two full rounds and then end with a final 9 holes? Official sunset is around 534pm here in the UK so that should give me until around 645pm before its too dark to see anything to get my rounds in.

Secondly, if Im going to attempt three rounds in a day do you reckon its acceptable to use one of those electric buggies?

Thirdly, as Im going to be out there all day do you think its worth the investment in having my clubs fitted to me before Tuesday? At around £3 a club its not really a cost thats going to kill me BUT is it worth having my clubs fitted even though they are a sub £200 set? The reality is Im going to be using these clubs for a few more years before I will even look at a set of more expensive clubs. Hmm..perhaps I just answered my own question?

Anyway, I cant wait for my day off :)

If you are going to be playing golf all day, who is going to deliver the mail?

In terms of how many rounds you can get in, I guess it depends in part on the pace of play at your course.  If it was me, I doubt I would go for more than 36, but why don`t you see what time it is and how you feel after the 2nd round?

I got my irons bent 4 degrees upright this season and am glad that I did so.

If I were to try 54, at least two rounds would be riding! A buddy and I played 9 yesterday in 1 hour 40 minutes on one cart and not rushing, but the course was not crowded at all. At that pace or a little better, about 9 hours for 54 holes. I would be dragging on that last round!

    • We had a member of our senior club who developed a mental block on pulling the trigger. I played with him to see what the membership was talking about. I timed him a few times when he would get over the ball. 45 seconds. He knew he had a mental block and would chide himself, “Just hit it!” Once on the green he was okay and chipping was a bit better. It was painful to watch him struggle. Our “bandaid” was to put him in the last tournament  tee time with two understanding players. We should have suggested to him to take a break from our tournaments. I agree with the idea that when a player realizes they have a problem, the answer is to go fix it and not return until they are able to play at an acceptable pace.
