Does anybody workout with kettle balls for golf. I have found these to be very helpful in flexibility, straight and endurance. If I may suggest a workout I found on the net. Google Kettle ball workout from hell. It is a great work out. Any opinions or thoughts on kettle balls lets hear them. The plus is the fact the workouts are easy on the joints and at my age 57 I don't need anymore soreness than I naturally have.

The workout I mentioned above is found under Kettle Ball 7 minutes of hell Try it a quick 7 minute workout that will get your attention

I use them for glute and leg work.....im a bit worried I need to go above 20kg now though as my gym dosen't have one!

At 57, I strongly suggest a heart rate monitor. I use one. I didn't realize how weight lifting zoomed the heart rate through the roof, and especially with kettle bells - where it is simultaneously aerobic and anaerobic.

IF you want to read up on some quick, different and extremely effective KB workouts, take a look at Geoff Neupert.  He has a site, blog, etc www.chasingstrength.com is one.  His double kb training is really good.  You can't find one that is longer than 15 min, and you won't need it to be.

    • So I have a son-in-law that I really like, and he plays.  Not great, averages 100-110 on a normal course.  For his birthday I got him a series of 5 lessons (he's never had lessons before) from a well-regarded local pro.  He hasn't started them yet.  For Christmas I am getting him a fitting and clubs from a local clubmaker with credentials and equipment out the wazoo:   And following the fitting I will be having the clubmaker make him 13 clubs (he already has a putter he really likes and putting is one of the better parts of his game).  I'll let the clubmaker and him work out how many 'woods', how many and which hybrids, how many and which irons, and how many and which wedges.  Other than paying I don't want to inject myself into the process. So my question for the board is which should happen first, the fitting/building of the clubs or the lessons?  I can see arguments on both sides and I just thought this would be a good place from which to get some input.  Thoughts?
    • Day 2: 12/11/2024 Today I spent another half hour or so in front of the mirror working on my PPJ. I still feel like an orangutan performing brain surgery with a hack saw. It's a big departure from the way I had been timing my moves in the past.  Here's a quick video of my practicing.
    • Two summers ago, my dad spent 3-4 months going back and forth from hospital to rehab. Sadly, it was his cholesterol meds causing muscle atrophy that kicked it off. At any rate, we weren’t sure he would be around very long let alone play golf again. Long story short, my son and I played a round with him this past summer, and he whipped us both. Never say never.
    • We got a new one, guys. LGLG!
