I'm glad the Club Caddy won as well. It was really the only one of five with mass-market appeal.

Count me in for 2-3 as well. If they can figure out the imprint (they may already have - I missed tonight), I think this is a great promotional product as well...

Seriously, though... how long realistically until a Club Caddy is available for purchase do you guys think? Screw the informercial... I'm ready to drive 41 miles each way to the nearest GolfSmith and pay up to $20 for this thing right now.

Since the finale was live, man, it might take MONTHS to get this thing packaged and in stores. Ugh!

Rewards (of some kind) to the guy who can somehow put us in contact with the inventor so we can get some early Sand Trap editions of his product.

Inventions aside, am I the only one that thought Brandi Koch (Hillshot chick) was looking pretty hot tonight? Stop showing the dad, show more Brandi!

Unfortunately, you were probably not. But my wife was drooling in her sleep on the couch and I thought she looked better, so don't include me in that group.

Had I been the sole judge, I'd have awarded the prizes in this order: 1) Club Caddy, 40% (simple, cheap, effective, and can sell a ton) 2) Z-Factor, 35% ($300 to become a great putter? Sold!) 3) Club Glider, 20% (not as mass market as the above) 4) Pro Play, 5% (I guess it saves you the trouble of learning how to use your existing digital camera to take video...?) 5) Hillshot, 0% (it's not at all a fit for retail)

am I the only person who thought the little rake attachment was really great? The club kaddy is a pretty interesting concept but I rarely take a cart so I'd never see myself having a use for it.

I can't tell if some of you are being sarcastic when you say you are awaiting the arrival of the club caddy to stores. I actually feel bad for the golf channel that they went through this entire show only to have a piece of garbage with such a pompous ahole as an inventor win it all.

I do not see how this made it into the top 5, top 25, or even the top 100. Who would actually buy this product? Can you imagine playing behind someone who uses the club caddy? You would end up strangling them by the 3rd hole!

Someone please explain to me what the rant and rave around this invention is?

My only problem with the show is they allowed the public to vote for the winners. I understand the notion of the consumer has the last vote however I think there were too many votes based on personalities or appearances of the inventors rather than function or selling potential of the product.

Let's see how next season plays out.

Also, maybe it's just me, but does anyone else find it odd how much the Hillshot dad and daughter touch each other?

HOLY SHIT! I had no idea it was father and daughter. I honestly thought they were husband and wife. That is freaking creepy as hell.

We're not.

Let's limit the swearing, dude. And he didn't strike me as pompous. None of the final five did. Perhaps only the Strike n Swipe guy did.

Who would actually buy this product?

Quite a few people, as I see it. Certainly several have said they'd do so here in the forum already.

I usually walk, but walking also involves putting your bag towards the next tee, so even as a walker I'd use it. It's not just for cart riders.
Can you imagine playing behind someone who uses the club caddy? You would end up strangling them by the 3rd hole!

It would take no more time than simply setting your club down unless you're so uncoordinated that you can't walk and clip at the same time. And even then, it's faster than waiting for a guy to remember his club and walk back across the green to get it.

Someone please explain to me what the rant and rave around this invention is?

For me, it's not having to worry about wet grips. I play early in the morning a lot of the time, too, and dew can be annoying. I don't like carrying a towel around with me.

...I think there were too many votes based on personalities or appearances of the inventors rather than function or selling potential of the product.

That could be true, yes. Perhaps they should weight it next time around: the Golfsmith guy gets 10% he can dole out, each member of the panel can dole out 10%, and the viewers get to count for 60% of the vote. Something like that.

I too am looking forward to the club caddy. Yes, there are many things already like it, and yes, it's a glorified clothes pin. But I recently had the horror of leaving clubs on the course (found them, but until I did my heart was going triple speed). An inexpensive and unobtrusive object like the club caddy that will protect my grips and short term memory... fantastic. Necessity is the mother of invention.

I'd like the club glider too, but I'd have to see what the price is. Hill Shot Golf is fantastic but impractical for consumers. However, I'd like to see my driving range purchase about 50 of them.

I am not supprised that the Club Caddy won. I thought it would come down to that, Z Factor and Club Glider. I voted for all three, with Club Glider getting most of them. I will likely get a Clu Caddy, as I could have used it Sunday.

I did find George Lopez almost unwatchable. His jokes were not funny and at times almost uncomfortable. I was just waiting for an insest blast at the Hill Shoters. In fact, 15 minutes into the show I switched over to watch the season/series finale of John From Cincinati on OnDemand. I tuned back in with about 12 minutes left as they had just eliminated Z Factor.

Ugh, what I found more unwatchable was Rich Lerner. I can't stand that guy's delivery. Not at all. Vince is missed, at least in this instance...

George had little wiggle room. I can't fault him for being fairly boring, but you kind of had to expect it. I too found him unfunny, but I was just glad when he was talking instead of Rich Lerner.

I thought it was stupid how they didn't even announce the winner until there was less than two minutes into the show. They could have simply shown all the ads, eliminated three contestants one by one, had a final commercial break, and come back with 10 minutes to spare. Announce the winner, and leave some time to get comments from everyone.

Lerner is a stiff. Vince at least has a personality. Is he still with TGC? If so, why not use him?

I agree totally about the ending. Why do you show the final vote then give the winner 10 seconds to speak. It was like they tried to jam too much into one hour.

I don't think live television reality shows is the Golf Channel's forte. Both hosts were painful. George Lopez needs writers. Rich Lerner needs some type of amphetamine. They should have stuck with the panel for some consistency with the show.

Great series until that last, lame episode. Sheesh, just stick with the regular format!

I went golfing for the first time and by the second hole I wish I had one of those giant clothespins. I found two lefty irons by two different greens too...

Yeah, Lopez and Lerner were almost unwatchable. The stupid skit where the fat guy went on and on about using the gadgets differently was painful too. They could have chopped the whole thing down to a half hour if they would have dropped all the awful segments and gotten to the point. I also would've liked a few more moments dedicated to the winner instead of, here's your ten seconds -- go!

I think for next season, they need to divide the inventions into 2 categories. Accessories and Training Aids, and have a winner from each division. I mean, really.. how can you argue with a training aid 30+ tour players use?

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
