Looked at both of these bags today and am very confused as to which one to get. I ride a cart most the time but want a stand bag for the range and its usefulness. The titleist looked more cart friendly but I liked the pockets for the hoofer more. Has anyone used these in carts? Or could tell me which they like more. Thanks I'm advance for any help

I would go with whichever has more pocket space, and another thing to consider is the club slots, I would go with the one that has more space for the clubs, but it is completely up to which one you like better. I hope this helped!

I had the 2012 Hoofer and I hated it. The light weight makes it a small bag. I don't carry 14 clubs and I had problems with clubs jamming in the bag, in and out. After thrashing a couple of expensive putter grips I bought a cart bag with a putter well. The Hoofer also moved around a lot on the cart, couldn't cinch the straps tight enough to keep it steady. I usually ride so it made sense for a bigger bag. I will be doing more walking this year so I'll be buying another stand bag for just that and move clubs around as necessary but it will definitely be a bigger bag with 14 individual slots. I don't care about the weight.

We used PING Hoofers when I was in high school and I really liked them... they are an awesome carry bag in my opinion. However, if you are going to be riding the majority of the time, I'd go with the Titleist. The Titleist bags are made by Sun Mountain and I've found from my own experience that they fit on carts better.

I gave up trying to find a single bag that fits all my needs. I just bit the bullet and bought a Ping 4 series stand bag and a Ping traverse cart bag. Very happy with both. I keep them both fully stocked and it takes 2 minutes to switch clubs. Some may not like the 4 series because it can be a little tight with clubs but I don't have a problem.

if your not walking with it on the course, you don't need a stand bag. you will get more benefit from a cart bag. for the range, they have stands to put your bag. it is useless for you to have a stand bag if your don't carry it on the course.  But out of those 2 i would go with Ping hoofer every time. that was my team golf bag in high school and college. nothing beats it, definitely my stand bag of choice for life.

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
    • The last time I played Maxfli balls, Dunlop was still making them. How long ago was that? Mostly, though, I used to play Top Flites (original 336 dimple model) when Spalding was still making them. Now I play the Pro V1x. Last time that I ordered some, Titleist was still making them. Let's see how long that lasts.
    • Once, on a course in Middleton, Massachusetts that I used to love but has since closed down,  I hit the wrong half of a huge, UK style double green.  Then I made the hundred foot putt.  Tough to  forget that one.
