What do you guys think of this?  Has anyone seen it? Basically advocating an outside in swing to hit it straight and saying the ball starts 70-75% I think only in the direction of the face.  "I've been hitting a lot of cut shots when I am playing"...ah I bet!  Does not seem to know you can also hit is straight with a push.  He uses bad terms as well saying to hit a cut the club face needs to be closed to the target, not saying it should be open to the path of the swing.

Uploaded August 2010. Think he would deliver this rather differently today. BManz is not everybody's cup of tea, but he's deep into TrackMan and certainly knows the basics.

He's right, though - except we're trying to say to hit a good cut the clubface needs to be pointing LEFT of the target and the path should be farther left.

Or "the clubface needs to be pointing left of the target and open to the path."

I still prefer the one James and I did. It's a bit shorter.

The D-Plane is like ten minutes of knowledge, really. It's not complex. It baffles me that people have made careers out of understanding something that takes about ten minutes if you understand a triangle.

Yeah I agree, but some PGA instructor posted a tweet about this last night as to its relevance.  I just think it is not very well done and overly explained in a bad way.

The one you guys did makes a lot more sense. He also seems to seems to ramble a lot and gets confusing at times. The part I don't get is why is he so concerned with hitting the cut shot or straight shot over the push draw?  Personally I believe the trying to cut the ball leads to exaggeration and the right elbow separating away from the body, and throwing the hands in the downswing for a lot of us bad golfers.  Yes I realize you can hit a push cut and then the elbow stays closer, but how many of us hacks are able to do that?  And generally if you try to hit it straight you will cut your longer clubs and woods and then you go down the path of exaggeration with that as well.  The push draw on the other hand seems maximize the side spin on the low/mid irons. The longer clubs and short irons seem to fall just slightly to the left, which I like more.   I may very well be wrong about this but that is the way it seems to me anyway.

I should clarify that I take longer divots on my short/mid irons so I am hitting the ball more before the bottom of the arch than with my longer/shorter clubs.  With wedges I use the bounce and woods I sweep so they are striking the ball more at the bottom of the swing.

    • Day 125: jam packed day, so only had time for a little putting on my mat. Worked on getting the handle slightly more upright at address primarily.
    • Day 309 - More of the same, grip/backswing/downswing rotation. This time with the Divot Board.
    • Day 50 - 2024-11-19 Hit about 20 balls focusing mostly on the backswing. That's going to be my November and December.
    • They need to do something to speed  up play. They could randomly  time  players. One  idea would  be  if a group gets  out  of  position they are disqualified. If its a group of  3 and  its  1 player playing like  molasses i can imagine an exciting interaction, lol
    • I agree with @dennyjones, a suspension of some meaningful duration would be better than getting bounced from the Tour. They might consider experimenting each week. It might generate a bit of interest. I like the idea of a visible shot clock. If a player and their caddy can’t decide on a strategy and pull the trigger in XX seconds (30? 45? 60?), one stroke penalty. Give each player 2 resets a round. The clock starts when the last player to hit’s ball stops moving. Other pace ideas could be used every couple events until a consensus is reached to adopt or ditch an idea.
