I used to walk all the time. People at my club used to jokingly ask me if I knew how to drive a golf cart. However, age and arthritis caught up with me. I was able to walk 18 this Spring while golf carts were banned on our course. The cool weather really helped, but often playing two days in a row was a struggle. Carts are now allowed. My plan is to at least walk the front nine, but ride the back if it's hot or my knees are hurting. Our back nine has a couple of steep hills towards the end. Sometimes if I walk I'm so exhausted I don't play them very well. All that being said I still think golf is better when one walks.
