Alright so new golf season coming up and with more time and money to spend on improving my game (hopefully to single digits) it is time to address the worst part of my game... the tee shot.

I regularly lose about 4 balls/round off the tee and 9 out of 10 times it is from the big stick.  The problem? God awful slice.

The weird thing is I know it is coming so like most people who deal with a slice they just aim to the left by how much they think it will slice.  The problem is no matter how much I aim to the left the ball still slices into the bush.  The more I aim to the left the more it goes to the right.

I am not one to go out and blame everything on my clubs what so ever but lately I have been really interested in shafts and how they affect everything.  So would my driver have anything to do with it?  If the flex is not enough will that leave my driver open at impact?

I am 99% sure that it's not the shaft - it's the swing path. You're swinging over the top so the more you aim left the worse it makes the slice. Work on your path.

Ok What kind of things would help me change this?

What helped me is: 1) Strengthened grip. Both hands stronger, but primarily left hand. -Promotes a closed face. 2) Moved my right foot about 2-3 inches back at setup, relative to the target line. - Gives more room to swing from the inside. 3) Bring the club back slowly, and slightly more inside. -Starts the path inside. 4) Controlled downswing. Meaning, don't try to kill the ball. - Allows more time to square face, promotes center contact. One or all or none of these things may help you. Good luck! Hit em straight!

Also, if I get fast, and ignore #4... All else is for naught.

pushing your hips forward towards the target (not spinning them) is a major component to being able to bring the club down from the inside and fix the path.

Presetting the hips a bit forward and starting with more weight on the front foot will help delivering the club from the inside. For me, a former massive slicer, shortening my backswing and feeling a hell of a lot flatter helped.

slicers are spinners, shoulders because of hips because of right heel not being used properly....due to how transition begins.

grip, stance, posture all help but are not the cause, they can be opposed, but club path cannot......book a lesson with your local pro.

Take a look at your shoulder position at address its easy to have your feet square ( or even close ) stronger grip, but if your shoulders are pointing left your gonna come over the top. Then if you do square the face up with the stronger grip your just gonna pull it left. At least that's what I've found when I start blowing it right. If you can keep our shoulders square to the target line until after impact I find it helps in getting the club to come from the inside. It works for me when I start having that problem hope it helps you
