Driving range stall etiquette is the same as urinal etiquette -- you don't come and stand right next to a dude doing his thing unless there are no other possible alternatives.*

(* Or unless you want to "make his acquaintance".)

So you're saying if I don't follow proper male restroom etiquette the results in this video could happen?

But I was at the driving range today putting a good workout in, when another golfer in stall in front of me (Im right handed) started hitting balls.  He was left handed.

My question is, is it bad etiquette to swing away without concern of where in his setup/swing the opposing golfer is?  It wasnt a distraction for me.... but i kinda of felt like he was getting annoyed and thrown off by having my club head in his vision, and seeing  my body movement in front of him during my swings..  Every now and again he would wait til I finished hitting a ball before hitting his.....

So i guess the question is, is it proper etiquette to take turns in a situation like that?

Are you on a driving range that marks off individual locations to hit, stalls, or a driving range were you just pick a spot. If you think you were to close, and you have room to move down a bit, then you can. If your not even close to hitting him, let him be bothered by it. If he didn't bug you about moving, then he's made his choice to adjust his practice methods to wait while your inbetween swings to hit.

I see the same thing all the time guys going in the front of the mats instead of paying the $3 extra to hit off grass or they run out to get extra balls instead of buying more.

Not sure what they are thinking we have a two level range and there are people on the top practicing there short wedge shots you can not see people below. The people on the lower level all stop hitting for these guys, I guess one day they will get hit that will stop them from doing this. I just would hate to see it happen or be the one that hits them.

Same on the putting green, your putting and people just walk in front of you like they own the place. I guess there are a lot of people out there that feel entitled.

    • So no joke, last evening post work nine must have been the craziest side I've ever played: Bogey, double, double, par, birdie, birdie, birdie, double, birdie. Two gimme birdies, one 15 footer and one bonus bomb from prolly 35 feet on no. 9. Full disclosure, it's a super easy course when greens are running at an 8 with easy welcoming pins. Still, a couple of firsts there. Driver freed me up starting the fourth hole. Anyway, driver notes: 1) anti left left hand grip. 2) no structural bind on hands/grip. 3) left shoulder HAS to get up to chin with humerus completely detached from chest and shoulder socket (feel) Big game tomorrow, aiming to break 80.
