I was the high bidder on a nice set of Mizuno MX20 steel shafted irons off of fleabay and was wondering what Mizuno gap wedge would fit in the 50-51 degree range? The MX20 PW is supposedly 46 degrees and I have Cleveland model 588 wedges in 53 and 56 degrees.  I'd like to get something around 50/51 degrees as a gap wedge but I'd really like something as close to the MX20 PW type head as possible.

I was wondering if a standard MX20 PW at 46 degrees could have the loft bent back to 50 degrees or so? Thanks.

A gap wedge from Mizuno's JPX series might be what you are looking for.

I sent Mizuno an email and they responded with using the JPX 825 Pro gap wedge as well. However, after sifting thru photos. the MX25 gap wedge actually looks pretty close as far as the sole perimeter and open plain cavity back - no insert. I've got a lead on a MX25 gap.

The MX-25 one would be pretty close as well, and if you got a lead on one go that way. As far as what is readily available, the JPX is going to be it. More that likely, that is why Mizuno recommended it. It is what they have that is new and is comparable.

Consider a wedge wedge. You can snag a like new MP T-11 for around $70 on eBay. I have a 50* MP T-11 and it fits my gap very well and matches my other wedges. I prefer it to my JPX 800 Pro Gap wedge because it seems to have more touch on chips inside 50 yards and around the green. The T-11 is about 5-10 yards shorter than the JPX on full swings -- could be anything including the shaft (Spinner vs PX).
