made 3 nice birdie putts today two of which were 12+ft.

In my stand Bag:

R7 Superquad 10.5* Fujikura REAX 65-S
Hi-Bore XLS 19* Hybrid Dynamic Gold S300
MP-60 4 thru PW Dynamic Gold S300 .588 REG 54* SW Vokey 58* LWSTX Greeny IV putter

This is what works for me:

Instead of focusing on the putt, focus on the shot that got you on the green. Instead of "wow IF I make this put, I'll get a birdie," try "that was a great iron shot; it left me with such an easy putt for bird!"

It's almost like you expect to make the putt; like the thought of missing never comes to mind. You stay positive by focusing on the great shot(s) that got you to the green.

and THE WHOLE POINT is to make that putt! You should be licking your chops to put the ball in the hole, not lag it up there for par.

Exactly....playing scared will leave you coming up short all the time. If you putt it 3-foot past the hole at least you gave it a chance to go in. Lags are great...when you got a triple-breaking 60+ footer, but still remember that those too are makeable. SPEED is key, once you become a master of distance control, ALOT more putts will go in I promise

TIPS: Whether you got 2', 10', or 80', eagle, birdie, or quad bogey, always keep the same tempo and preshot routine, AND get it to the hole. Believe every putt WILL go in, and ALWAYS pick a speed, on every single putt, that will get the ball to the hole....then determine the break.

I made 3/5 birdies the other day not worrying whether I made them or not. All were 10' plus.....I'll take 3/5 any day of the week. Maybe when I'm a 2.6 I'll have a different view on things, but I'm not, and I believe this method works well for hackers like myself.

There was this big tree to the right of the green on a par three today. My ball hit tree and I was on the green looking at a 40 foot putt over a ridge. Needless to say, I made the putt.

I had a similar thing happen to me in a tournament a few weeks ago, but mine was for an eagle (net double eagle).
