I have been playing about four months. I have been fighting a slice with my driver and today I drove the ball straight ten out of ten times I tried! It felt amazing but my irons were aweful! I was hitting the ground behind the ball on everything. What I changed- I was way out on my toes and changed to a more evenly distributed stance between balls and heels and made sure to stay coiled usong more of a shoulder turn than doing everything with my arms. Do you think that the weight change from toes to balanced between heels and balls could have caused my poor iron play or was it something else? Should I distribute weight differently with irons vs driver? Ps I often play where my woods r ok and irons are horrible or decent irons and horrible woods so it could have just been one of those days!

Balance should be maintained in the swing. Easiest is to keep 50/50 heel to balls of the feet. Your not trying to be ready to run, so you don't need the athletic posture used by other sports. Yes in balance can cause issues.
