Hi, im not a member of any course and i like going around different courses whenever i feel like it and not thinking that i should go play my local one all the time. As I want to get into golf more now, I would like to monitor my handicap and was wondering how can i do this myself so i know how im progressing?

I use a program called IntelliGolf to track mine http://www.intelligolf.com/ . It's a program for your Palm Pilot, but it has a desktop app goes on your computer. I haven't used the Palm Pilot conduit ever since it shit the bed years ago. I only use the desktop app ever since, and I just enter my scores after each round.

You can track all sorts of statistics with it, but I generally just track handicap, GIR's, number of fairways hit (or left or right) and number of putts.

Yeah, I just started using digital divot too. I like it. If you and your friends are using it, and want to play with handicaps, you can even print out a nifty little handicap card, just like if you were using a real (USGA-approved) handicapping service. Good luck using this in an established tournament, but as you're beginning, it seems a great way to go.

I use this as well, it's quite fantastic.

You can either keep a simple handicap or you can put hole-by-hole statistics in and it will give you % FWs, Greens, etc.

What do you mean? There aren't any official ones so far as I know. Clubs split them up as they want.

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
