Looking for camera recommendation.

Hey guys - My wife is looking for a camera with good macro capabilities. That's the only quality that counts. The camera is going to be dedicated to taking closeup pics of a business project she's starting, so any other features are irrelevant. Just macro. The catch for us has been that we don't have much money. Suggestions we've gotten so far have been for SLR units that are well outside what we can scrape up. Does anyone here have knowlege of a point-and-shoot or other compact style camera with a good macro function for under, say, 300 dollars (the more under the better)? Sharp focus on objects 6 inches away or less is the goal here. Here's what out current Samsung p-and-s takes, to show you what's considered unacceptable quality. (My wife is making glasses with embroidered lenses, and the national catalog that agreed to carry them says they need sharper pictures than this.) Thanks very much! Tom

Otherwise I would retro search for solid digital cameras and buy a use one that is in good condition.

Those photojojo lenses look pretty cool! Unfortunately though, we don't own a phone with a camera. Thanks for the suggestion to search out older models. Much appreciated :)

I've done good macro work with a lens extension tube and a DSLR.

Thanks very much for that, Eric. I know you've got a good handle on photography and equipment: do you know if any manufacturers do better than others when it comes to models not as advanced/pricey as DSLR's?

My canon power shot does pretty good macro and I believe they are available for +/-300$.
