Cutting down belly putter

Hi I've recently bought a ping Scottsdale pickmeup belly putter. I'm wanting to cut the shaft down to35". I'm wanting to know if this will make a difference to the weight of the head and affect the swing? I've read someone's comments on another forum that it doesn't affect anything when cutting down belly putter it's more to do with broom handle one!? Anyone clear this up? Thanks

I had my Ping belly putter cut down a few months ago. About 3 inches. Had a Super Stroker grip installed. I didn't really notice any difference in the head weight.

Most times the head of a belly putter is heavier than the same head in a conventional putter. So when you cut it down it feels a little heavier. You may like it though. I didn't.

I've hit another problem now. The core of a super stroke grip won't fit on the putter as it's shaft is too thick!!! Dunno what to do now. Think ping belly grip is 0.610 and super stroke is 0.580

      Day 29 (9 Dec 25) - PW dink and rolls as well as low flighted chips.  Dink and rolls - set up with club head toe down/heel up to promote low flight, plenty of roll out.  Low flighted pitches - club flat on the ground to get ball up a Rick more and check more.   No more than 10yds total distance - focus on getting the ball to finish near (within 10’ dia circle) the target “pin”…

      Only ever used ShipSticks and never had a problem. It's really nice because you can ship to anywhere not just courses.  No matter what you use, I take the extra care of the clubs and wrap them in something before putting them in your bag and into the shipping box.

      Practicing my putting after work. I put five balls on the carpet and a mug on the other side. Once I make 3 out of 5 I can stop. If I leave any short or they go to far and fall off the rug, I restart.  Focusing on speed and hitting my mark 3 inches in front of me. Trying to gain consistency and discipline in all aspects of my putting game.
