There is probably a thread already on this topic but I'll go ahead and post this anyways. Currently I hit my irons and hybrids solidly along with hitting my 3 wood. My problem with golf right now is that when I hit my driver I produce a huge banana slice that, when in play, is about  150-175 from the tee and in the deep right rough. Usually I can hit my 3 wood close if not in the fairway and I can get 175-200 depending on course conditions. Does anyone else primarily hit 3 wood instead of driver from the tee? My 3 wood is a Mizuno  F-50 with a REG flex shaft and my driver is a RBZ with a REG flex shaft as well.

A topic that has been debated 50+ times on this site. But yes, I used my 3 wood for over a year because I couldn't hit my driver either. I got fit for a new driver and now I use my driver more than my 3 wood. I do have days where I struggle with the driver and use the 3w still.

Im the exact opposite. I don't hit my 3 wood nearly as well as my driver. That's why I'd like to give that Taylormade mini driver a hit.

If you have trouble with a driver and can hit a 3W better, go with a 3W. Go with what works.

When I go on a business trip and end up renting clubs for an unexpected golf round, I use a 3W off the tee. Never play a strange driver on the road! :naughty:

The fact is that most golfers would probably experience greater distance and more fairways hit if they teed off with their #3 wood instead of their driver.  Fred Couples did it for years.
