This may be an odd question, does the fact that the True Linkswear Proto shoe is so low to the ground have an effect on current lie and length of clubs? Particularly irons. Thanks

No. You're talking about a cm or less, and mostly in the heel, not the toes.

My shoes are worth about 1/2 inch. There is a 1/2 difference between most clubs, so it could have an effect. I really noticed the effect when I customized a putter on a rainy day, using my practice green in my den. On the greens it was wrong. I learned the hard way about that. But thats the only time I golf in socks or barefooted. There is 2.54 cm in an inch? I bet it can, for a better player, make a toe rise. I have seen sets with 1/2 degree lie differences between clubs so it wouldnt take much.

He's not comparing shoes to bare feet. He's comparing shoes to slightly thinner shoes.

Correct. I was comparing standard soft spikes to the unique low design of the true Protos. Very comfortable just need to get used to the wide toe area

Off topic but I guess since the question was answered. Did I take any of you a bit getting used to for the large toe area and do You find a more stable almost of the heels set up with these shoes

You find a more stable almost of the heels set up with these shoes

I find I get the most stability when my leg and foot muscles are more engaged with these shoes, especially since the toe box is wide enough for your toes to spread, which gives you more contact with the ground and better stability. Having practiced martial arts barefoot for a couple years, I can tell you that's crucial to power, balance, and preventing injury and fatigue.

Having your weight on your heels will certainly make it harder to get the weight forward during the downswing, and though I wouldn't go too far on the toes, you can do a lot better from there than your heels.

Would you say it is just a matter of getting used to the style of shoe?

Since the golf shoes I have now (and like) are similar, and I don't think they make them anymore, I think these will be my next golf shoes. I have really wide feet especially across the toes and some golf shoes are way too pointed to be comfortable for me. I wore walking shoes for golf for a long time just for that reason.

Yes they have.   I emailed True the other day and was informed the Protos, Stealths and Tours have all been discontinued.

I agree.   I recently bought a pair of Stealths and a pair of Protos.   I like the wide toe box and comfort of both and while I think the Stealths are kinda goofy looking, I think the Protos look good.   I have never been a fan of wingtips, even as an actual dress shoe, much less as a golf shoe and I don't like the other offerings True has kept in their lineup either.   I sure hope they come out with some new models that are more in line with the Protos.
