Do you plain in the rain?

Have any of you played through the rain? I will usually play through the rain if there is no lightning. It makes the greens really freaking slow. It's fun though, becasue the course is completely empty. It's supposed to rain all weekend here in Oklahoma.

I am also facing a weekend of possible rain and have 54 holes of golf planned. :(

I was at the driving range last night and tried out my FJ rain gloves. I was very impressed with the grip the gloves provided while hitting shots in driving rain. Everything was getting soaked. Also I was using the opportunity to test my focus on hitting shots while getting rain poured on me. I was impressed with my ability to block out the rain while hitting driver shots.

rain can be relaxing. soothing. i don't think its the way to go low- but it can be a fun change of pace.

I hate playing in the rain, grips get wet and shots go awry, doesnt make sense to me.

Due to health I don't go out if it is raining. However, if it starts to rain while I'm out there, and if health allows, I love to play in it. I don't have any rain gear except a "windproof/water-resistant" wind shirt, but it works great if it's not a complete downpour.

One odd thing though, I don't bother to putt if it is raining. I call them all 3 putts and move on to the next hole, I enjoy the long swings in the rain too much to spend time putting. Plus I usually 3 putt anyways (if not worse).

as long as it isn't mosquito hell, i'll play in rain. Usually the course clears out and it cools you down.

I pretty much play golf in any weather, it could be a hurricane and as long as they arent going to blow that horn I don't care what the weather looks like. I have a pretty nice footjoy shortsleeve jacket but I don't have rain pants! This makes playing in the rain a little annoying but I actually enjoy it from time to time. This christmas I want to pick up a pair of high quality goretex pants and a gustbuster umbrella.

If you have the gear its fun, if not... I dont expect low numbers.

I live in on Vancouver Island. We have pretty good weather, but from November to March, it can get wet. I just have good rain stuff: rain gloves, Dry-Joy Jacket, Nike Rainpants, good shoes, and cord grips. With an umbrella, it's not too bad. Plus when you go out the rounds are quick as the course is pretty empty. I found the key is to not focus on the weather; as soon as it starts to bug you, you get frustrated and have no fun. If it gets in your head, I wouldn't bother.

Yes living in Vancouver its hard to not play in the rain. But as gogolfing stated as long as you have the appropriate gear its still just as fun.

I will play rain, as long as no lightning or thunder. Any of that and I get off, otherwise it's fun.

I played today in Australia and it poured, and we have club champs. Its meant to rain tomorrow for them too. Fortunately, I still got even to my hcp.
