I currently have a titleist 909 head with an extra stiff shaft on it that does not have an adapter. My friend has a titleist 910 head with a stiff shaft on it with an adapter. Would I be able to remove the adapter from his shaft and put the shaft on my 909 head?

Yes you can use that shaft and I assume you can remove the adapter. If not, you can get one here
