Honestly, if you are a 36 handicap, I don't see "brand" as what you should be looking at. Having top quality clubs shouldn't be your main focus. If you aren't sure of things to look for in clubs as a high handicapper then just ask. I would be more than happy to help.

Dicks Walter Hagen brand has clubs made by some of the better club makers. Most of them know who makes the clubs, and what shafts are really in them. If you find that you like the look of any of them, hit them on their monitor and see how the feel.

Not so fast there. I'm not judging you seeing how we've never met, and if you have been performing well on the par 3 courses that's one thing, but I wouldn't assume that for golf. I know lots of athletic and coordinated guys who can't golf to save their life.

First off, what's your budget?

I would agree. If not, then see if you can find a good used set for a price within your budget.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

First off, what's your budget?

This is a good deal here as well:

I would agree with both of these. The Wilson set comes with two Hybrids. If you are new to the game, learn to hit these now. That way you won't grow to fear/hate your long irons. The Adams set seems to have everything as well. My buddy went to Golfsmith and bought a Zevo set. It was $170 bucks and had everything. It is a great set to use if you want to make sure you are going to stick with the game. When Zevo first came on the scene they were a custom club company. They grew too fast and went bankrupt. Golfsmith bought them. They are solid quality and inexpensive. http://www.golfsmith.com/products/ZVF100

    • Day 591, June 16, 2024 Worked for almost four hours doing some modifications to Golf Evolution (some insulation for a foam door and blacking out the remaining windows next to my teaching area), then hit balls for 45 minutes. Started off stiff, predictably, but five minutes in was humming. Same stuff as the last two days.
    • Day 65: Played 18. Decent round with the exception of two doubles.
    • Went back to feeling the hands slowing down and stopping at A3. Feel a significant pause at A3. Hands down towards the ground. I get the mental image of Morikawa with how he pauses at the top of the swing, but then really rips at it.  For me, I have to  grip the club about 5° open. Or at least what looks like. With the driver, it’s another story. A bit of a regression here. Lots of John Daly– esque over swing. Lots of  shallowing with the body. If I try to send the club behind me with the hands going down to the ground. I have a bad habit of timing that with an over swing. So, I had to go back to feeling a significant positive again to control the back swing length. Then I went back to try to bring the back of the right hand down to my right hip. It feels stupidly, awkward. Like no flow to the swing. But from A6 through impact  feels more effortless. Now I’m hitting some decent push cuts this way. In the swing feels like it has no speed. But, it’s probably better overall. something I noticed that is way different from my irons to my driver is that with my irons I can keep my eyes looking at the ball much better through the downswing. With the driver, I find it pretty much impossible to do. Will post some videos later.
    • The text, in case Elon ever kills Twitter (more than he already has): Quick 18-hole game you can play on a launch monitor: Write 90, 95, 100, 105… 175 on 18 balls. Put them in a bag, pick one out, try to carry the ball the listed distance. Scoring: - ≤ 1 yd, Eagle - 1.1 - 3 yds, Birdie - 3.1 - 6 yds, Par - 6.1 - 9 yds, Bogey - > 9 yards, Double Of course, you don't have to do it with 18 balls; you can use slips of paper, etc. You could also set a start and end point and randomly generate 18 numbers, and play to those yardages. But… let's see some scores? Let's see what people get. The nice thing is… you only need a Mevo level device.
    • He's entertaining. I still don't "like" him, and he has said a lot of stupid shit over the years, recently about the LIV stuff and the OWGR, etc. TikTok is infinitely more evil than Bryson.
