Not a lot of airtime for Luiten's match now; the other ones are more exciting and close.

That's too bad, I like watching a golfer in dominant form.

Blixt made a clutch putt there, needed that.

And a certain birdie for Luiten after another great approach. A lot can happen in Match Play, but it seems Luiten is too strong and Larrazabal already gave up.

Exactly whose idea was it to hold this tournament at a course across the street from a race track on the same weekend as said race track is hosting the British Superbike Grand Prix? The buzzing of motorcycle engines is driving me mad, and I'm watching on TV.

Blog ET: I have to say I have a soft spot for Joost Luiten - just the way he goes about his business is great to see. He plays aggressive golf with minimum fuss, and right now, he is the form man in this prestigious tournament. Joost won all his group games and he's not letting up against Larrazábal today. The Dutchman is six up on the Spaniard with seven holes to play.

It's driving me crazy too. But I only listen to the commentators for about an hour. Then, the TV sound gets muted and the stereo comes on. I don't need to be told what I can see anyway.

Haha, Larrazabal with a long putt for birdie, he makes it, then Luiten does the same :-D 6up, 6 left.

According to the commentators, the schedule for semi finals is different from what was on the ET website. Luien might have to play against winner Ilonen/Dubuisson. Would be weird, but we'll see.

Dubuisson also out, against Ilonen. I start to like Luiten's chances.

Reeds won quite a few friedns this week. Described in this mornings paper as a "breath of fresh air".

South Africans have a fantastic record in this (OK Player and Els) but it also makesme smirk again a little bit at this notion that players need to be given a months notice to prepare themselves - Fair enough, Coetzee had more notice than John Daly when he won the USPGA, but he was only a confirmed runner as late as Monday

Coetzee immediately 2up against Stenson. Luiten 1down. Exciting semi finals.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
