Victor Dubuisson is one of my top 5 favorite golfers. Yet it is difficult to find much information about his past. Here is a great article that sheds just a little bit of light on why he is the way he is. It's a 6 month old article, but a good one.

International man of mystery: Rising star Dubuisson driven by childhood agony

This thread may also become a bit of a fan page for him. I expect him to win a boatload of tournaments before his career is over. Viva la Victor.

Another article where his Ryder Cup teammates shed just a little light on what it's like to be around him.

Victor had an excellent final round yesterday at the European Tour's Perth International. He finished solo second...but still 3 strokes behind Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen. Many of you may remember Thorbjorn getting a ton of airtime at the PGA Championship.

Another good placing for Victor, he moves to 20th in the world rankings.

Here he is with Charl S. enjoying a brew and a gorgeous Aussie beach over the weekend.

Is Victor Dubuisson hurt again. He shot an 85 in his last round at the WGC and hasn't been heard from since on either tour??

Too bad Americans cannot relocate and avoid income tax.  Well said, but none would live here then.

I don't know what happened to him, more mystery.

He seems to be back in form however as he's shot a 67 & 68 in the first 2 rounds of the Shell Houston Open. Here's to hoping for a good finish and a great Masters.

Going by media reports he's one of the slowest players on tour but I still like him.

Definitely Major material and in good form leading into the Masters.

Well not a good showing again at the Masters. He doesn't appear to even be trying to make the minimum 15 events on the tour for 2015 on the first full year of his tour card? It is so hard to get any info on him. He hasn't posted to Twitter since the Ryder cup and has no web site that I can find. Truly, a Man of Mystery!!

Probrabably the only Frenchman I could ever tolerate.

Mmmm not sure if trolling or just plain racist, anyway...

As for VD he seems borderline Asperger syndrome, really an interesting golfer for sure. As for stars fleeing France's tax system, we even had Depardieu being granted russian's citizenship!!

French is a race now? And you accuse an introvert of Asperger syndrome?

But, be easy on Chris P. He's probably never been to France, and if he did he was probably pissed off at the service. Foxnews has alot of influence.

Yeah racist is probably not the appropriate word but you get my drift. France is so multi cultural that saying one doesnt like French is like saying one doesnt like cheese, there are so many sorts... (See what I did there?) As for Aperger, i remenber reading that a lot of succesful athletes have a form of that condition, Lionel Messi for example is rumored to have it. VD exhibits lots of the symptoms, but i'm merely exercising my right to make totally unverifiable assumptions here :-D

Yes, VD exhibits alot of symptoms. So does Victor Dubuisson.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
