I am an expert in getting into slumps but not so much on getting out of one.   But what works once in a while is to go back to my practice routines that got me playing well before.

I hit a slump in the fall - full wedges seem to historically be my biggest issue (trying to take divots is usually the reason - requires such a precise ball strike).     I read here that the mindset with wedges should be different - they are scoring clubs & you don't need to hit them as hard as the other clubs - accuracy is more important.    THat helped me reel it back in - don't worry so much about generating spin by hitting them so hard, just focus on smooth tempo like my other longer clubs, and clean ball first contact helps me gather it back in ...

Like everyone else I have had my share of golf slumps.

I always used two ideas to combat the slumps. The first one was to take a break from the game. Not a long break. No more than a few days. Usually when I came back, what ever the problems were, they were gone. If the problem(s)  persisted, another break was in order. Some folks would play through their slumps. I just found it faster to get back into the groove doing something else, away from golf for a while. I have other hobbies.

On other occasions I have been playing in some sanctioned event over a 2-4 day period, and ran into a slump during those times. Can't very well take a breather from the game during multi day events. If I could not right my swing problem(s) immediately, I would just go back to my own three basics. First was the proper grip. Second was the proper position at the top of my swing. Third would be the correct start of my down swing. In my case the correct start from the top was to get my lower body moving first with emphasis on on my hips. If I could get those three things right, I could usually salvage my round. Plus they were easy to work with.
