Yeah, so, in my vocation, the blame game has made product development fail numerous times. I'm guessing. . .just guessing, that it might do the same thing to our economy?

BTW, I've been blamed numerous times for oversimplifying things by politicians, like when the lights went out at one of their luxury homes. They started talking and later arguing about the power companies being so inefficient because of so and so policies. They kept going on and on for an hour or so while a friend and I were looking for the fuse box (which the owner had no idea where it was located).

Take a guess what it was? :-$

BTW, my friend was also a worker engineer.

EDIT: What tipped us off was the fact that the lights were still on around the neighborhood. We did have to explore to find the next door neighbors house, though. (2+ acre lots) :-$:-$:-$

I hold both sides accountable for the problems we have today.

Obama rammed the ACA down all our throats because he wanted a legacy for his presidency.  He got his legacy but the cost was a complete lack of trust and cooperation from those that opposed the ACA, I hope it was worth it.  Obama had a chance to reach out to the GOP and extend an olive branch after the elections on Tuesday, instead he made more threats.

The GOP is sitting on their side with the wrong agenda, instead of focusing on addressing the needs of our country, they want to stick it to Obama.  As I see it, the left and right are in a fight to the death and no one in office cares about the big issues facing the country.

As for immigration, the right thing is to do is ship everyone back to Mexico that didn't enter legally and allow them to file for citizenship like those from every other country have to.  Bordering our country and illegal entry shouldn't entitle them to any additional priority over people from other countries that have taken the legal and appropriate measures to become a citizen.  That said, it isn't realistic, so I'm okay with amnesty under the following conditions;

  • They all must register with their local government as an illegal alien and obtain a temporary SSN.
  • Any with a criminal record here or in Mexico are deported immediately.
  • They are not receiving any welfare or other government aid.
  • They are placed on a 3 year probationary period that mandates should they file for government aid or be convicted of a felony crime they will be automatically deported.
  • They are not granted the right to vote until after their 3 year probation period has elapsed.

There are more than  356 bills made it through the House and never made it off of Harry Reid's desk. Many of those bills were passed with bipartisan support.

So enough of the BS that the GOP is the "Party of No."  The gridlock was caused by both sides, and the biggest reason that nothing was done was because our president decided it was easier to vilify and blame Republicans rather than compromise with them.

This thread is a master class in editorializing while claiming you're just stating facts. Anyone surprised cable news channels do the same thing?

Call the Wahhhhhhhhhmbulance. :-D

Maybe all of us need to lighten up, including yours truly...

Facts: The GOP is labeled the "Party of No."  The Dems are labeled the "Party of Welfare Queens."

Is either fair?

Not completely. Well .. when you vote against the ACA 50 times maybe it is deserved when you do not present an alternative or amend the law.

But one does get a reputation ... :bugout:

No one said it was one side's problem .... both sides point fingers too much.

But we voted Tuesday.

Let's see if the GOP can govern ... or will it be a Ted Cruz free-for-all? :censored:

2016 may depend on what they do ... or don't do...

C'mon Jamo, it's politics, there are no facts, just statistics that each side interprets to make their position seem correct.

Uhh, okay? I wasn't arguing or criticizing. Just trying to be educational. Sheesh.

Oh, ok... Sorry :pound: It looked like you were telling me that engineers was a bad choice of profession to make my case. I guess I've got a bit of the old politics-chatroom-glass-half-empty syndrome. Cheers.

Where is the "defend Obama?"

Obama is  a center-left President who is insular and lacks the ability to form coalitions ... He doesn't even backslap his own party members. Of course, he is to blame for not courting people -- Congress is like the girlfriend you want to date. But you don't get that date unless you do some courting and flirting. He fails miserably in the courting and compromise department.

From what I understand, Congress passes laws and send them to the President for veto or signing ... so pass them and lay it at the President's feet for signing or veto.

As to immigration, why should he wait? They've already blocked a bipartisan bill. You think it's going to get better? LOL!

Executive Action means enforcing the laws and regulations on the books in a more aggressive manner. If he goes beyond the law, then Congress has a case. The President may interpret the law broadly; this Congress will interpret it narrowly.

I suggest this Congress gets off its butt, brush aside the dust that has collected on its collective hynies, and pass decent legislation that helps solve problems, not create new ones.

Your understanding is fairly sound, but very often they won;t go that far knowing that a certain veto awaits them. It takes a long, arduous process to get a bill drafted, revised, through committees, into public forums, dealing with lobbyists who have their say, and voted on,not to mention all of the backscratching that goes on known as "logrolling." Many times legislators don;t want to spend hundreds of hours of time on something with an inevitably futile end. Most bills have a predetermined fate before they even get written. Not saying it's the best system, but that's the way it generally is.

    • Range again today. A few freezers and a few smoothies. If I add a little speed I swing further arms go deeper and lower and more across again. Really like where this freezer got to on backswing:   This is a smoothie (ish). Clubhead tracks up the hands nicely but the things go a bit wrong: At normal speed: Lastly one shortish pitch shot. Pitching some days I come out and can drop it on the flag. Other days it’s going sideways. Like missing right or left by 10 yards from 50 yards and nothing in between. I suspect it’s from the hands coming out and the cut across. If I release it on that line it’s going left. If I hold it off it’s going right and then it’s timing. When it’s off it’s off. Feels like if I can get that under control it will tighten up a lot.
    • Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Which I believe used to host a LPGA tournament. Fantastic course, compared to what I typically play. So fantastic I carded a 115! in my defense it was 90 degrees by 9 am in late July. Not to mention whatever grass they had around the green was absolutely foreign to me, I could not get my wedge through it. The entire grass came up like it was a piece of shag carpet. Suffice to say my short game was a mess. but good times!
    • Nice Berger choke job to the Anchor Man who putted well.
    • The most important thing in my mind was Akshay responding all day Sunday. He was 2 over and five back at the turn and just get grinding. bridies galore and then on the fifth he bogeyed and on the sixth he played it far enough right that if he missed a little left it would be right by the hole. It was and he made the eagle. Stayed in it, kept playing great and kept getting pars. He very much deserved the win.
