Me and my mate started golfing when we were 13yrs old currently 42, we have hit millions of balls, studied books, watched swings, and both had some lessons (not many), we both understand the swing, both good at sport, ive gone on to have many par and sub par rounds, my mate has a better swing hits it a tad farther but has only broke 80 twice in 100s of rounds, we know the problem, we understand the problem but cannot fix him, he just cannot get his sequencing correct at the start of the downswing, out of 10 drivers 5 will be smoked and I mean smoked, the other 5 off the golf course left and right, his right shoulder is the problem it tends to start the downswing on the bad shots, why cant we fix him, is it that he will never have the natural ability to perform the correct downswing, its killing him we need help to fix it.

Quickest way? Have your buddy join the site, and then start a my swing thread. One forge experts here will identify tr number one priority piece that is preventing him from doing what he wants and explain to him how to work at it. Then he will start the process of improving in a methodical manner and things will eventually work themselves out according to how hard he works at it. Good luck! Ps while your at it why not post a video of your swing as well? Cheers

If it is on YouTube just insert video and put the url. I'll find the link on how to do it for you.

It's great to have that swing that can pound the ball, but the top priority is to keep it in play.

    • Wow, largest ever 36-hole lead at the Masters. Seems good. I don't really have much to add, but I'm having a great time nursing a cold by watching this tournament.  I doubt Rory fumbles this one, but you never know. As a fan, I hope he can close this out with two rounds to go.  I saw a funny comment somewhere where someone said Bryson should try to 3D print himself a green jacket.
    • Day 234 4-10 Blending hip/chest rotation backswing work and wrist arch in downswing. Pause at the top and slower swing. Recorded and hit foam balls.
    • Day 2, April 10 2026.  After watching today's excellent Masters broadcast, I have hit 18 balls, one at a time, each after doing the pelvis limiting drill.
    • Day 33 (10 Apr 26) - Played in the club Friday shootout with a slight twist as the course was setup for tomorrow’s local “Masters” one day tournament.  The pins were in some slippery places and the greens firm and bouncy.  Overall made for staying the process all the more important especially on the greens.
    • Rory up by six - makes me wonder if the powers that be will adjust Augusta’s moving day setup to be uber tough or uber getable to get a few closer.
