Hands Separating in Backswing

Noticed at the top of my backswing ,there is about a two inch separation between  my left thumb and the palm of my right hand .   1 .Is this a bad thing  ?  2   Any ideas to keep  from separating ?

Can't post a pic . However , I did notice in analyzing my practice swings , that when I made a shorter shoulder turn my hands stayed together . Perhaps I a have been turning too much on   my  backswing  ?   When I make my regular swing ,my hands naturally separate .at the conclusion of the backswing .

my hands separate as soon as i try and get too much out of my turn or shortly after my left arm breaks from straight.

this is a consequence of an overly flat backswing in my case. left arm across body, wrists cock sideways instead of up and the left arm breaks down, pulling the hands off the grip if i force it.

poor mechanics on my part caused by right elbow going behind my shirt seam.

Really tough to help without seeing what's going on. Too much turn is probably not the issue, the arm swing may be too long but I doubt you're actually turning your body too much.
