Hi everyone, have a question about these clubs I just purchased. I bought a set of rbz graphite regular shafts 6-AW. Went on ebay and purchased a 4 and a 5 iron to match up the set. Took them out a couple of times on the course and couldn't hit them very well. I know it's not the clubs and that it's something in my swing that I am doing wrong. Because I can go to the range and hit the heck out of them all day long. They feel pretty good. I think it might even be a mental thing that I'm doing wron. Had to go to graphite because of my arthritis. Yes, I am a Senior Citizen. :)

I have a chance to pick up a set of Rocketbladez 6-P for a couple of hundred bucks. Hit them at ******** and they seem really solid. And from what I have read they got pretty good reviews. I asked the Taylormade rep at the store about the difference's in the two and he told me basically that the rocketbladez have more forgiveness at the bottom. I think they are nicer looking club than the rbz's so that's a plus. But I would be giving up 3 clubs. I would have to purchase a 4 and a 5 iron and I wouldn't have the AW wedge.

I have a way better deal with what I have now, but it the other clubs are going to work out better for me, I would definately go back to the store and trade them in. I have a 90 day return policy on the rbz's in which I paid $140.00  for. The rocketbladez are $200.00. So I would have to come up with a difference with about $80.00. Are these Rocketbladez that much better than the rbz's. I can't tell, and would probably have to take them out on the course to see if they work any better for me. I know these clubs are not the newest on the block, but I really just wanted to get a decent set of Taylormade's

Anyone have any experience with these two clubs?

thanks,

martinbr

To answer your question about wither the R-bladez are better than the RBZ irons, I don't know for sure.  What I can tell you from personal experience is that I hit the R-bladez irons much better than the RBZ irons my league playing partner carries.  We've swapped irons on par-3s a few times.  He hits his RBZ irons better than he hit my R-Bladez.  I hit mine better than I hit his RBZ irons.  He hits the RBZ irons overall better than I hit my R-Bladez.

So much for comparison.  I have the same 6-AW Rocketbladez set with graphite shafts.  To me, they hit really soft, go high and straight.  I don't hit them that long, but I'll take the forgiveness and straight ball flight over distance, I guess.

Added #4 and 5 hybrids to fill out the set.  Don't carry an iron longer than a #6 because the hybrids are so much easier to hit.

Welcome to the site.

The biggest difference IMO is the "cleaner" look of the RocketBladez at address. Performance wise they are very similar.

Well they definitely longer than my other clubs. But I just want to get something I can get off the grass and onto the green. Screw the distance, even if I have to take a longer club. I am going to keep them for awhile and if they don't work out, I will use them as a trade in or sell them and get something else. I have a set of clone r11's that feel really good. Actually, I don't even know why I bought these things. Just looked like a pretty good deal.

mvmac, have you tried the rbz's before? How did you like them?

Just on the range. Thought they were good, performed the way they were suppose to. Launch the ball high, forgiving off miss-hits.

Never hit the RBZ's. My Son has the RocketBladez, with stiff shafts. I have hit the PW, 8i, 7i, and 5i. All preformed very well, very easy to hit, and were a bit longer than my Titleist CB 695's which are forged, so the RB, felt a bit different, still a good club imho.

Yeah, I think I'm going to keep these for awhile. When I become a better player I will probably dump them and get something else.
