One of the adjustable cogs on my driver got stuck and after a few bangs off a corner it came loose but has since became stuck again. A pro recommend using wd40 spray to loosen it up but is it okay to do this?

I would try a dry lubricant spray first. You don't want your driver to look all greasy and dirty.

I would suggest a little mineral spirit, which is actually a fine oil, much like sewing machine oil, where the friction is not all gone if you want it to hold without a lot of force but need just a little solvent or plating characteristic.  A lubricant as slippery as teflon, which I recall is possibly the most slippery molecule commonly available to mankind, may be too good of a lubricant if you need a low torque lockup. Some other gentle oils that are not so slippery are along the lines of baby or mineral oil.

I could see undoing it, wiping it with mineral spirits so that it was clean on the mating surfaces and reassembling it.

You might like to identify the driver and explain what you mean by a "cog".

Someone may have experienced something similar.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I thought it to be the multi toothed spacer between the similiar toothed hosel and similar toothed head connect hosel. They can act like they want to spall togetheR under pressure.
