Titleist 704's vs. Cleveland CG2's

No contest. I love my Titleists, but the CG2 is the winner hands down in my opinion. Ball flight is perfect, not too high, not too low. Great distance. Great control. Thin top line that looks great at address. CMM technology is great. Like hitting a stick of Land o Lakes butter connected to a shaft! Some poeple say the hit is muffled or dead, but I think it feels great. You can tell a mishit by the flight and distance. Who needs that sting and annoying click sound? Cleveland has had great wedges for years, but their iron sets with CMM (Carbon Matrix) are superior clubs as well.

i have a cg10 wedge and i love the way it feels, and the black pearl finish. i have been wondering about these irons cause im wanting to upgrade within the next 2 years, maybe next year. i had planned on getting mizunos cause i never hear anything about these clevelands, thanks for sharing your opinions. ill consider tehm before i make a purchase for sure.

I have also hit the CG4 Tour model and they are very nice. Definitely try the Cleveland irons before buying anything else. You can get a new set of the CG2's on Ebay for around $375 these days!

Haha, I like the Land O Lakes analogy. The CG2's are pretty solid. I hit the whole line of Cleveland this summer and the CG2's seemed like a perfect blend of forgiveness and workability (although CG4 Tour's are nice too). I almost made the switch to them this summer but ultimately I didn't play enough or have the time to practice to warrant the switch. Maybe next year. I do like my Gunmetal irons though...

I almost picked up the same gunmetals, but the offset was just too much for me at address. I strongly recommend the switch. These irons seem very forgiving to me for a players cavity back.
