I have been playing with some old Tommy Armour Ti-100 for years and am ready for upgrades. Am thinking about the Dynacraft Golf Hybrid iron set with 3 and 4 iron Hybrids, te 5,6,7 are undercut cavitys and the 8 down are cavity backs.Thinking of shafting with Graffaloy Prolaunch blue. I am 62 with a swing speed with a 5 iron of about 75 with pretty good tempo and mechanics. I hit a 5 iron about 160. Any thoughts on my club selection

I dunno about the Dynacraft. What's your budget? If you're putting some pretty good graphite shafts in your irons, you've probably got enough cash to get a slightly more name brand set, no?

Dynacraft has some very nice equip. and i've seen a lot of their stuff come in closer to spec. than a lot of oem's equip. The myth that equip. has to be oem, is just that, a myth. I believe that i've heard that dynacraft is having some financial problems and if they dont have in stock what you're looking for, it might take them awhile to get it in. I have fit customers into the clubs that you're looking at, and they've been very happy with the results! I would think that you would see a bit longer yardage in the irons that you are looking at compared to what you are now playing.

Yea I could, but have read some good stuff on these. I figured, at the price for the heads, If I did not like them, take the shafts out, throw the heads away, and get snake eyes or something.

I used to have a set of those Ti100 irons. A very high center of gravity. I bet you'll hit your new irons a ton better, and probably higher, too!

Dynacraft is one of the best component companies. Good luck with the new irons, and let us know how they work!

Played with them twice. First time I swung one was on a 160 yard Par 3. Pulled out the 6 iron flew it to the green, dead straight. Next time I used one was 2nd shot over water on a par 4. 150 out, pulled out a 7 iron flew it to the green, dead straight. Par four on 2nd shot to a severely elevated green 155 out into the wind. Pulled out 5 iron flew it to the green with a slight pull. I love them. It has been a long time since I have hit them that well. Do not know if it is the heads or the shafts, or a combo of both. I am hitting the 3 and 4 hybrid good on the range, but pull them on course. Seem to have a little too much offset to them. Also, they have a Paragon shaft rather than the Graffaloy Prolaunch Blue. Do not know if that would make that much difference or not. Also got a new Snake eye Hybrid 3 wood with the Graffaloy prolaunce 45 with R flew that I absolutely love.

    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
    • I had an interesting one yesterday, a local qualifier for the US Senior Open, at the Cascades Course at the Homestead.  Well, first things first, the VSGA arrnged for the officials to play the Cascades on Monday at the players' practice round rate.  Its lots of fun, rather old-style (built in the 1920s).  anyway, a player missed a short putt, and (apparently embarrassed) took a step to be ready to tap the ball back in.  The ball lipped out, and hit the player's foot.  I was nearby, and they waved me over, and asked "What do we do now?"  I was pretty sure of the ruling, but asked them to wait for a few seconds while i double-checked.  I did have it correct, even though its one of the more confusing rules in the book right now.  I'll leave the correct answer out for now, in case anyone wants to guess, or research it, and post their ruling.
