You'd want a good high-speed down-the-line video to help confirm, but I suspect a lot of your hooks are of the straight-draw variety and a result of the lower body "sagging" here rather than exploding to allow the turning rates to continue. Look at your left knee and where your hips and chest are pointing, and your right arm relative to your left.

Thanks Iacas. You're right, my hooks are generally draws that start a bit too straight or even left. Actually my stock shot is a fade.

To confirm, what you are suggesting is that I straighten the left leg a bit quicker in order to keep the hips rotating through the ball?

Yes with the weight forward to "explode" more. As described in the video.

Welcome to TST!!

Consider yourself fortunate. @iacas and @mvmac are two of the best instructors out there.

I can see that and I do consider myself very fortunate. Can't wait to try these simple (and now I come to look at it, 'obvious') tips.

Just bumping this thread simply because I went out and worked on the advice from iacas and mvmac in an explosive turn of the hips. Scores and handicap have been coming down ever since. Shot 67 gross in my clubs January medal.

Thanks Guys. Much appreciated.
