OK It depends but usually 540 I can reach pretty handily in 2... I actually have one on my home course its 548 but close enough... It has water fronting the green... But if its flat and there is no trouble... I can reach it usually 3-wood, 3-wood... or Driver, 2 or 3 iron... downhill.... depending on how much downhill maybe 4-7 iron for a second... uphill I probably would have to smoke Driver, 3-wood... on a 540-yard uphill par 5 I usualy hit 2-iron off the tee so I can lay up its all a test of course management...

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I would have to agree with some others on here , that if i make 2 solid swings and hit my driver on the screws, with a well struck 5 wood, i am either on the green or close with almost any par 5. But again. the problem lies with the 2 good strokes

obviouslly it all depends on the shots, 2 good shots and i can get there within 20-50 yards. I know on a 520 Yard hole, 2 good shots and Im on the Green.

Unless I hit my drive on the screws for 270 I'm not reaching it. If I do get it 270, I figure I got to rock my second shot at least 250-260 to get it to the front. Not an easy task, for me anyways...

drive 8 iron assuming good hits and no run

Assuming you hit a long 8 iron at about 200 yards (which is above Tour standards), that would mean you'd hit a 340 yard drive. Not bad in my opinion! Where's the thread about over-estimating drive distance?? Lots of people here must be on 'roids.... I'd be about 50 yards from the green with a 260 yard drive and a 230 19* hybrid.

i did say assuming good hits of the middle of the bat - i can hit a ball hard.

roids i dont think so unless they put em in lager - obsession with power - thats me that is

I doubt it. If I blasted two shots in a row, I could POSSIBLY get there. The first hole at my home course is a 585 yard par 5, that doesn't have much change in elevation from tee to green, and has a wide fairway. My avg. drive is anywhere from 260-280(shows how consistent I am huh?) =P, and if I really catch one good, i can fly it a little over 300. My longest drive I have ever measured off was 315. And my 4 wood(21*) normally goes about 220. So realistically, I'm probably not going to hit a 540 yd. par 5 in two strokes. And even if I could manage two hit it that far, it would be even more difficult to keep it on-line with the green. So I would most likely be a 56* wedge away from the green.

    • Day 54. Was in a good place last week. Yesterday’s round killed my confidence.  Full swing practice trying to get back to where I was but struggled with being tired and tense. Back to basics tomorrow.
    • Welcome back! Evolvr.com? I don't use the full extreme end of it, and that's probably dipped to 75% or so nowadays. But I use the sole more than I don't, yeah. Also… it's good to learn this shot: Middle up. Not generally outside your feet in either direction. I generally have it slightly forward of center, yeah. Short version: tip your upper body in the direction of the slope. Look at the GC3. You can find them for really good prices sometimes.
    • 3 rainouts in a row….that’s SAD Sorry, I’m in MI or I would take you up on a round.
    • Day 3:  I tried to hit a bucket at the range but an 80 year old man (he told me his age, showed me his knee replacement scars, told me all about his chronic low back pain, etc) couldn’t pass up the opportunity to mansplain to me every little thing I’m doing wrong.  Dude, it’s my third frickin day.  I know I need to twist my hips more, I know I need to keep my head/chest down and not pop up, I know I need to hit through the ball and follow through further, yada yada yada.  I know.  That’s exactly what I’m trying to work on.  How about you tell me or show me how to do those things instead of telling me to watch Iron Byron videos?  Rough day.
    • Day 132: 5/7/24 Full Speed Spectrum Training session 8/24. 7th training program overall.    Another slow session but 4 mph faster than my last session, which was my slowest ever. Going to the doctor on Friday to check on pulled neck muscle.
