Been stuck up north at my job and haven't been able to get my hands on a working camera (resolution on the laptop was also way to low). I have been doing lots of work on the preset drill, I feel like I am getting better and sliding my hips forward while still getting good rotation. Hopefully I can get somebody to record my swing this evening and I will post it too see if there is any noticeable difference.

Finally some new video. All I was concentrating on was getting my weight forward and striking ahead of the ball. It felt like I was throwing it way forward but in the video it doesn't seem all that extreme.

Shout out to AbsoluteTruth for the ball and string idea.

Hmm does it matter if my back heel is raising up like that? or is that an indication of something going wrong.

I wouldn't worry about that for now, from dtl it's not coming off the ground too early.

I'd recommend you keep working on the weight forward/speeding up the arms piece and also spend some time working on turning more on the backswing.

How much further should my weight be? I feel like I am finishing with 80+ percent of it on my front foot, is it just getting there too late?

What do you mean by speeding up my arms?

I never had an issue with not rotating enough before, I think with the amount of short swings I have taken practising I have gotten into the habit of under rotating so that shouldn't be too hard to straighten out.

Thanks a ton for the info!

Doesn't necessarily need to get more forward, just saying to keep doing it.

In relation to your pivot the arms are a little late or "behind" you timing wise.

This is a good drill to speed up the arms, weight/hips forward, then smash it.

Also it looks like the pro on the right has his shoulders more turned then I do. I thought you wanted them to be pretty close to parallel to the target line at impact. Is that not true? Should I be swing my shoulders and torso faster or just getting the arms further ahead/faster/more infront of my body?

By A6, the shoulders will be fairly square. By impact the torso/hips will be open, not quite as much as the hips but definitely open.

Turning more on the backswing will help but speeding up the arms will have to feel independent from the body rotation. A feel or image I can share is if you had a spear in your right hand and were trying to stick it in the ground a few feet in front of the ball.

Plan for the week.

More preset drill working on weight forward but with faster hands and arms.

Lots of practise backswings with more rotation while maintaining steady head and not letting the hips slide back

As well I will be adding these stretches and excersizes to my normal routine for a little more upper torso rotation.

I'll post some new videos in a few days and hopefully there is so improvement.

I have been super busy with work the last month or so and haven't been able to get a swing video done at all. I have been able to run a lot of drills though. I have been doing lots of the preset drills and working on getting a full rotation and swinging down hard with the arms (I have also been working on keeping a connected feeling between my trail arm and my body). I can definitely see a huge difference. I hit the ball consistently straight to a push draw, I will get the odd fade or slice when I take a poor swing (2 or 3 times a round). This is definitely the best I have ever hit the ball. I shot a 79(+9) the other day on a fairly easy course, and my scores have been hovering around 81 otherwise. I get down from work in a few weeks and hopefully can get a couple of videos in before the golf season is over here.
