Hot Spot Info

I am going to be living in an area for a few months that is pretty isolated. Surrounding terrain makes satellite service iffy, but we will have pretty decent cell phone service. Looking for some info on a good brand of internet hot spot. I don't want one with a contract since it will only be needed for few month. also I don't want a smart phone with a hot spot. I already have a good cell phone. I am also looking for the most gigs for my money. I typically use 2 gigs a week. I don't do any streaming. Just lots of reading emails, news, and social media stuff. I am not sure what you are really looking for when you say "a good brand of internet hot spot".

But I'll take a stab at answering.

When I travel, I use "BOINGO" service to connect to internet hot spots.  You can pay as you go or buy monthly pass (which is the one I use).  Sometime, I will also use SKYPE WIFI.  If you are a comcast/xfinity customer, you can log on to their service for fee, if it is available.  Time Warner cable also has a similar hot spots.

When I say good, I mean something that works well with very few problems. Something able to capture a some other company's  signal. I will be in a Verizon/ATT coverage area, but I don't want to use them because they want a 2 year contract.
