My question. I am 6'0. My driver is about 38" long. Should I consider cutting down my shaft?

Maybe you should consider getting a driver with a longer shaft?

I am 6' 1/2" inch tall and I use a 45" driver.

I would be really concerned with the lie angle of that driver.

If you are slicing its usually 99% the swing not the equipment.

I eliminated my slice completely by adopting a neutral grip taught by Paul Wilson. There is a video on YouTube. He claims he has helped many people Eliminate their slicing by this grip, strong top hand, weak bottom. Worked for me. I still fade my drives on occasion. Been lining up with a closed stance and that seems to be helping that.

      I'm hearing this morning that Robert MacIntyre may be facing some sort of discipline (probably a stern warning) for the finger incident on 15 yesterday.  It dawns on me his upbringing would have been during Tiger's prime years -- he's 29 now, and would have been in elementary school in the early 21st century.  Someone should tell him that the swearing wasn't what made Tiger great at golf.   Or John Daly (or Don January?) or whoever else we associate with both being good at golf and producing choice words on television.
