Why not start by saying something you should ? Theres nothing wrong with an honest chat with them the next time. You'll be doing yourself, the other players on the course, and truthfully, your buddies a favor. If they don't/won't listen, play with those that do. And going forward, make sure you always schedule your tee times ahead of theirs . ;-)

Agreed. I've tried to be subtle about it; maybe I need to just yell "HIT THE DAMN BALL" once. If nothing else it will make me feel 100% better. Any time I ever throw out a "guys, we're dragging" I always get an "it doesn't feel like we're playing that slow" back. To me, it feels like watching syrup run uphill, but...

I'm not going left or right of those trees, ok? I'm going over those trees...with a little draw.

I couldn't take that. If there was wide open course in front I'd just say to them, "sorry guys, you're playing too slowly. I need to play at a reasonable pace. Peace out." And then I'd be gone.

Unfortunately our tournament rounds never finish in less than 5hrs 15 mins.It is tough sometimes to get into a rythym but when you got 120 guys playing and tees doubled up then its not gonna ever play faster so you just gotta pace yourself.

Stop playing with them.  Period.

If playing with them negatively affects your enjoyment of the game, then why continue to play golf with them?

played a 5 our round in spain.

could not pass, people in front of people in front. holidays and all that.

took it in a played the course à great inks course 6350m (7000 yards +) at emporda spain.

august is never a good time to play I believe. to much watering of greens and FW since heat. roll ok but not good. holes tiny since sponge effect of wet turf reduces the hole cut smaller than the bogey itself, many times it's the aerating process to come or to go.

I played a nearly 6-hour tournament round in 112 degree heat. Friggin brutal. I went home and passed out for 10 hours.

Got paired up with 3 other golfers this morning on a resort course. One golfer was a junior and he was definitely a beginner. We took our time b/c we wanted him to enjoy the round. It wasn't the fastest round I've ever played but I didn't get frustrated with the pace. They had people going off the front and back nine. When we got done and I looked at the time I was amazed b/c we played in 3hr 50min. One of the guys and I were joking...we both couldn't understand how a round of golf could take more than 4 hrs unless you are poking along. Especially when complete strangers and a beginning junior golfer can finish in 3:50.

    • I've had this one since 2021.  Amazon.com No complaints.  I had to reglue the little Velcro tabs onto the yellow foam guide thingies. But that's not a big deal. The Velcro came off almost immediately and I put them back on using super-glue and they've been fine ever since. I've hit a lot of balls off this in my garage and I have no complaints.
    • I've been thinking about buying a hitting mat for home indoors use. I currently only got a small patch of some mat I bought years ago and stand on a wooden platform. It'd be nice having a mat to stand on and hit from. After some searching, I see Fiberbuilt often being praised. Not sure if I can get hold of it easily here, and buying internationally can get expensive for a mat that's already quite pricey (~$800). The Wittek Quattro is also usually favorably mentioned, and at half the price (~$400) of the Fiberbuilt. Anyone have experince with this mat? Any other suggestions?
    • It just occurred to me that the last time I was serious about golf, my woods were made of….wood! Also interestingly (to me anyway) as I shopped for “woods”, mostly on eBay, I found that all the clubs in really nice cosmetic/aesthetic shape (good finish, nice club face, good grip) were woman’s clubs. Seems they either take really good care of them or don’t use them much.    And lastly, for now anyway, I went to a range today that has Top Tracer monitors at all the stations - another “new” development that may have been around for quite a while, but this was a first for me. I found it useful although I’m sure I only scratched the surface of its capabilities.
    • Agreed. For me, the feel was introduced to get the arms moving down from the top. It wasn't necessarily a "get it in front of the hip" explanation as the correct position but more for an exaggerated feel to get rid of the earlier issue.
