What do you see when you look at the stars?

Could be both literally and metaphorically.

When I was younger, I would go outside and look up at the sky and feel much more relaxed.  It was a combination of realizing just how small we are and looking into my own future.  Could be my next days workload or whatever.  But it was always nice to go out on my own and just look up for a few minutes to get rid of any stress that I was holding onto.  I always wanted to play golf for a living as a kid or dive to the bottom of the mariana trench for biological research. I still hope to do the latter eventually, but I'll stick with a version of the first one.

But once I took a bit of astronomy and astrophysics, I think more about what kind of star am I looking at and it's life cycle.  What's the potential that life is looking down on us from over there somewhere?  I love the night sky now.  I haven't yet gone up to the mountain top to see the whole milky way but it's on my bucket list to do soon.  I can't wait to see it just light up the whole sky.  I enjoy looking at my pinterest that shows random pictures taken by satellites of far away galaxies or random gas clouds producing dazzling light displays or remnants of a star gone supernova.  All the above really.  It seems impossible that all this could happen out there.

There's just something about the stars...

The fact that the star could not be there anymore and we wouldn't know in our lifetime. :-D

Before, I only saw stars.  Now, I see galaxies, black holes, other planets, quasars, ...

    • Now you may not agree with these but once you get the speed dialed, super fast, true rolling greens yield a lot more holed putts from 10-15 feet range = birdies. Also, the rough wasn't terribly penal. On a separate note, it seemed Berger tried to cash in on his lead. Didn't play bad or anything but you could tell dude had already blown his load the first two days. And then Akshay stepped up. I mean the dart for the eagle was ridiculous.  Fun watch in a long time.
    • Day 1 (9 Mar 26) - starting up again with a week layoff due to travels.  Played with the men’s group for the Monday shootout.  Was good to play, had some rust especially the long game, especially getting proper weight shift.
    • Day 204 3-9 Wrist arch through downswing and getting wider with backswing. Need to continue working on getting trail arm "reconnected" as it still seems a bit off with wider backswing.
    • Saw these today, this is a scam.  Joined in 2026.  Click his name and then his profile.  2 posts, no friends, one item for sale.  These clubs are probably takes from Temu. Facebook
    • Range again today. A few freezers and a few smoothies. If I add a little speed I swing further arms go deeper and lower and more across again. Really like where this freezer got to on backswing:   This is a smoothie (ish). Clubhead tracks up the hands nicely but the things go a bit wrong: At normal speed: Lastly one shortish pitch shot. Pitching some days I come out and can drop it on the flag. Other days it’s going sideways. Like missing right or left by 10 yards from 50 yards and nothing in between. I suspect it’s from the hands coming out and the cut across. If I release it on that line it’s going left. If I hold it off it’s going right and then it’s timing. When it’s off it’s off. Feels like if I can get that under control it will tighten up a lot.
