I hit this driver 10.5 deg r flex at my home course with a 117 mph swing speed. The ball went miles in the air but I managed to hit one very long. Should I get this club,or was it just the extra light and long shaft that was making me hit it farther? I'm thinking about playing with 2 drivers a short stiff one 7.5 and extra long 45.75 inch 50 gram x flex 9.5 degree for max power does this make sense?

Mike, I think you know the answer to this. With your swing speed, that is not the right shaft for you.

117 swing speed, and you didn't feel like you were just flinging around a pool noodle?

EDIT: Also if you're looking for two options off the tee, why not just opt for a 3W? I feel it would be a much better option for more consistency than just a different driver.

I would recommend you test the drivers you mention at the end of your post before making any purchases. The results of that will likely give you all the information you need to decide whether it would be reasonable to purchase either of those drivers.

As of now though you have tested a driver with a different loft and shaft than you are interested in. I'd be interested to hear from you when you test the clubs you mentioned being interested in purchasing, with the correct shaft and loft, and what you decide based upon the results of your test.

My 24 yr old son hits my former R1 at 9.5 with a UST Mamiya Attas 65 X Flex at 45 inches - his SS is 115+, and he carried one ball the other day 340 yards in altitude (near Denver).

My guess is you do not need 2 drivers, probably do not need 7.5 loft, even in another unnamed forum, I've only heard of guys going to 8 degrees.

I think you need a properly fitted driver with a low loft, low spin shaft, but that would depend on the fitting.

Have fun and when you carry that new fitted driver at 300 yds, let us know.

You may want one of these new 3 woods that are adjustable with forward weighting, TM or Callaway 816 Alpha are two, set it at 14 degrees, and 43-43.5 inches, and see if you can hit it off the deck. If not, cut to 43 inches. Let us know when you carry it 270 off the deck.

hey there.. I played with a guy who had the aeroburner in matte black and I hit it and I loved it.  So I got it at Sports authority for about 250..  I went to play a round and couldn't keep it in the fairway.  The shaft and head are too light for me..  the stiff flex shaft felt like regular flex and I had to really slow my swing to get a square hit.  Im a 7.7 hcp and I think I jumped the gun getting this Driver.. subsequently I went back to my RBZ driver and gave the aeroburner to my brother who is not a great golfer. he loves it!  that's my two cents!  good luck!
