i am considering buying one of these for personal use and have questions that I can't seem to find definitively online. I've seen some of these issues answered by iacas in these forums, but I can no longer find the relevant forum thread on a search.

  1. How much space (I.e., how long a ball travel) is needed for the device to collect valid data? If I were to try to set up indoors, how big would the space have to be?
  2. For each of the units, what result values are actually measured, and which are calculated or projected?
  3. Are any modifications of the club or ball required (I.e., reflective tape/dots/fiducials etc.).
  4. Does the price include software, and does it link to iOS devices?
  5. I realize it isn't a "sim" per se, but does it give you some sort of "pro tracer" ball track on a computer?
  6. If you wanted to use it as the basis for a complete simulator set up, does it interface with any of the existing sim platforms like HD golf, etc.?

thanks!!

The search index is being rebuilt.

  1. Eight feet behind, 12 feet in front (both relative to the ball or hitting area).
  2. Same as any other doppler radar: clubface is calculated. Virtually everything else is measured.
  3. Indoors, you'll want to add reflective dots to the balls.
  4. Yes.
  5. Yes. Heck even the online ball flight optimizer Flightscope has does that.
  6. Yes.
