Hey there fellow golfers..   I just wanted to share my experience with some like minded people.  So I was playing the other day and noticed a fellow playing an old set of Hogan blades.  I have always been obsessed with Mr Hogan's career and life so I was drawn to them...  They looked a lot like a set of mp32's I have but the sole on these clubs was much wider in the middle.  They are the Hogan Radial Irons circa 1983.  I left the course later that day and went on EBAY and found a set for 50 bucks.. I offerd them 35 and they were sent to me the next week.  I played a round and found that the set is very very nice!  These irons are Forged and they are really small!  but the sole is designed by ben hogan to be low weight distrobution to promote a higher ball flight..  I was a little thrown by the amount of offset on the set.. but I adjusted myself to accomodate that.  I play Titliest Ap2's and also have mp32s to practice ball striking with.  So this set of Radials are really great!  I really like the E and S wedges..  the bounce on them is so nice!!  I have ousted my Cleveland 54 and my taylormade 60 for these two wedges..  The E wedge is a great choice from inside 100 yards!  If you're interested in some really nice vintage irons that look and feel amazing.. check out the Hogan Radials... they are so cheap on ebay and you wont be disappointed.  There are a few differnt versions.. the earliest is the 83 radials without the underline... and then they added an underline.. and I believe they eventually made a cast set of radials with no underline.

so nice!!!!  diamond in the rough!!!

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
