Hey everyone! Just booked my vacation for Myrtle Beach in October. I know it's a little ways out yet, and I looked in the other forum, but most of it is dated, so I'm looking for an update for Myrtle Beach golf. My son and I will just be playing. I will also have my wife and daughter doing their thing, so funds will be a little lower than I like to spend on golf. Probably will be able to golf 2 days, possibly 3. Looking for some nice/decent courses with green fees of around the $60 mark. Could probably go up to $100, but that would be max. Would prefer to stay closer to the lower end if possible.

My son and I both shoot anywhere from 82-90 depending on the day lol. Don't mind challenging at all, but we do want to enjoy our rounds and not get frustrated if you know what I mean.

Thanks for any and all advice. It's nice that we have some time to plan our golf out.

Admin, sorry if I can't post this here, but it doesn't appear many members go to the other forum.

Thanks

My son's wedding was there last August and we played World Tour and Tidewater both a lot of fun and didn't break the bank.

I believe there is a Wednesday Special at the Barefoot Landing courses- or at least at ONE of the courses. I got onto the Love course for $50 last year. Not terribly overpowering for the mid to high guy(or gal). ALWAYS check around on the actual course websites for email specials, coupons, and the like. There are a few sites that may LOOK like the course site, but are part of a "group" of related courses run by booking agents and such. But October in MB should be a lot of fun. Also, check the MB chamber of commerce calendar to check on what might be in town that week. For example, if you went during bike week, try to avoid the courses out along 501, since the area around the racetrack will be at a standstill. IF there is a major event happening, try to keep your golf local to where you're staying. So if you are in the North end, stick up in that area, if you are South, then stick around there and below. Nothing will ruin a pleasant week of sun and golf more than sitting in traffic for two hours because you booked a course that you can't get to because 15,000 motorcycles all want to get to the same place at the same time. Nothing against them personally, but a bit of forward planning can avoid problems with any major event in MB
