That wedge came out like 10 years ago and I think is discontinued at this point. Didn't catch on for good reson, 73* is pretty useless.

I bought a 70 something degree wedge several years ago when visiting relatives in Ft. Worth. (Academy Sports?) Didn't need it, and only bought it out of curiosity.

As it turned out I couldn't hit it to save my life. My relative was even in worse shape with it than I was. We had a good laugh about it. Another gentlemen came up to us to see what were doing. He was there for tounament, and when he saw this wedge he had to try it out. He spent most of his warm up time trying to hit that wedge. Long story short. He apparently was this course's champion. Trying to hit that wedge screwed him up so bad, he played a lousy couple of rounds missing their tournament's cut. We found this out a few days later when we returned for our own round of golf and ran into him.

I don't know what ever happened to that wedge, but I am sure it's in a good place, still lost.

All a 73* wedge will really do that a 60 or 65 cant is be naturally open rather than having to hold the club open more.  Am not sure it is a really useful club unless you want to play flop shots a great deal.  Am sure it works on certain courses only, but that is all

What's in the bag

  • Taylor Made r5 dual Draw 9.5* (stiff)
  • Cobra Baffler 4H (stiff)
  • Taylor Made RAC OS 6-9,P,S (regular)
  • Golden Bear LD5.0 60* (regular)
