I talk with many VC's and for the past 5 years or so all they wanted to talk about was Uber this, AirBnB that, Facebook clones, big data, and various other internet businesses. In the last 2-3 months for the first time I am hearing them talk about something different. They are now starting to talk about robotics. Could be a bunch of companies start sprouting up doing robotics.

My son is on his high schools Robotics team that is sponsored by FIRST and promotes STEM.  These kids have been putting in 8 hours a day and weekends for the last three months working on their robot in preparation for the upcoming tournaments.  

When I first heard about the club I never imagined how large and sophisticated the robots are.  Here is the link to the challenge for this year.
