The 2H just relieved my 2I at 18 degrees and has comparable distance but with a higher flight and a higher degree of versatility. I occasionally will take out the 3I and use a GW of 52, but I find that I don't play any better with it. I can knock down my PW and juice my SW and find that when I leave out the GW I tend to think and be more creative as opposed to just relying on a "this is the club for this distance" mentality. Of course next week I may play a shorter course and put it in the bag knowing that I won't have any 200-220 yard par 3s into the wind.

It's not bad but it results in about a 15-18 yard gap....as opposed to my usual 10-12 yard gap. Thought I could handle it...but not possible under pressure. MUCH easier to do that with one of the short wedge clubs. Thanks for your input!

That's exactly what I do. I have the standard MP-32 lofts, which makes my PW 47*. The loft gap between the scoring irons is 4*, and luckily I was able to find a 51* gap wedge. I don't have a 3-iron in the bag to compensate.

For future reference you can always bend a 52 to a 51 OR a 50 to a 51

Also it wouldn't just to have all you clubs checked on a regular basis ( This goes for anyone ) I rarely trust the loft printed/stamped on a club.

OK, here's an update. Since this post I have changed wedges and I am know playing 48-54-60 and the gaps are even. I wanted to keep the 3 wedge set-up and never really felt that 4 was productive because I would agonize over all of my choices. This does make it easier to choose and since I don't practice as much as I would like to I am more consistent.
