Half the fun in golf, is experimenting with new ideas, swing strategies, and new battle plans. Thought I would start a thread for people to post such things as I often have these and Im curious to hear some of yalls. My new game plan this week is two fold. 1) Gonna revisit a more old school form of putting. The pop stroke...think Brandt Snedeker. Tried a variation of it before and had just 29 putts that day. 2) Gonna take the overlap grip for a run. Seems to get both hands in a more neutral position and helps me grip properly with the right hand. Im really looking forward to my round this week.

I am always tinkering around with my club face at adress. I pretty much have a decent swing, and grip. I just like to see what types of ball flights I can get by opening/closing the club face a little. Sometimes I move the ball around in my stance.

I also mess around with my chipping game using different clubs, from different lies. However, I dont stray far from my normal chipping game.

Most of my tinkering is with the putter. I like to watch the pros strokes and try to take things from them or try to emulate a technique or trigger when I practice. It's usually just for fun but sometimes I stumble on a game changer! But I'm with you 100% on tinkering being half the fun.

Good timing for this thread. This year, I've decided to STOP tinkering with my swing.

So far, it's been working well.

My tinkering went well. Had fun trying the new putting technique even tho its just not for me. The overlap grip looks like a game changer, as the pop stroke putting killed me, I still shot 6 shots better than the last two outtings. Fun stuff!

Iv'e been chipping with the interlock grip with my lw because it reduces or totally eliminates face rotation and causes a softer landing on 12 yards chips.

An interlocking grip does not eliminate face rotation. I've been using an interlocking grip for the past year and my clubface rotates through out the swing.
