Hi guys

ive currently got a titleist 910d2 driver with project X shaft (stiff) in it. I'm getting a very high ball flight using it and wondered if changing shaft would help lower the ball flight and have more penetrating flight!? Would I need lighter or heavier shaft etc or mid tip etc?

Can anyone help please?

For the record I play off 12 and drive about 260 yards with swing speed around 100mph.

Thanks

Is it the 5.5 or 6.0? Project X is generally a mid to low launch shaft. A heavier shaft generally has lower launching conditions.

Hi. It's the 7cx one and 6.0. Think it's 73g shaft so that's a pretty heavy shaft already ain't it?

Not sure which Project X it is, but below is some info.

Per the Maltby shaft rating, 7.0 is a low launch shaft.

Is this a new problem with that driver .......were you hitting it acceptably before or is it new driver with high ball flight? If the former it might be you

I think this is a great suggestion. Check setup and mechanics first before you start swapping shafts. If it does turn out to be the shaft, I hope there is a gifted club fitter in your area. Comparing shaft flexes across manufacturers is the "dreamland" of the golf business.
