Titleist D2

I'm looking at purchasing the Titleist D2 9.5, haven't really decided just yet on which shaft to put in this bad boy, I'm leaning towards the Aldila Proto Stiff flex but I'm still on the fence about it.

Anyone playing this club?
Any suggestions on shafts?
General recommendations?

What shaft do you play in your driver now? What are you happy / unhappy about it? What is your typical shot, what is you miss? How far are your average drives, do you know your carry distance? What is your swing speed, have you ever been on a launch monitor? The D2 is one of the higher launching and spinning heads Titleist has put out recently, fitting for loft and shaft are crucial to maintaining proper performance. Selecting a shaft is all about translating your swing dynamics to achieve the proper launch conditions. Launch monitors and a knowledgeable fitter / golf pro are invaluable tools, especially when you're spending $400 and up on a product. The way I see it you have two options, get fit now by a club builder, or wait until Titleist puts out their version of Optifit in the spring and try shafts until your heart's content.

I like my D2. I started in the spring with a stiff 9.5 Proto 65g and hit it well. Once I started playing more and the weather got warmer (probably enabling me to loosen up), I had to switch to the X. My repair guy says that line of shaft is weak, which makes sense. I play s-300's in my irons and have a stiff shaft in my 3-wood. My swing speed with a driver is 110-112. I like the trajectory also. I ended up purchasing a 907D2 with the Aldila Proto 65G Stiff shaft in there. Luckily i have a golf shop here in Orange County that has a driving range onsite and i was able to try numerous shaft options. And like i imagined i liked the Proto the best, my older driver (Cleveland Comp) had a green NV65 stiff and i loved it. On my downswing they felt virtually the same in terms of flex and the weight is pretty much identical, and i was smashing it. So who knows... I'm going to take it out tomorrow and smack it around. Thanks for all the advice and comments.
